June Simple Stories Layouts

I have two new layouts to share with you today, using the two newest collections--Sunshine & Happiness and Bloom & Grow.

For the first layout, I used Bloom & Grow to create a quilt pattern across the page. I was inspired by this image on Pinterest!

To create the quilt pieces, I used a square punch and cut them in half from corner to corner. I started in the middle, and just copied the quilt design until my background was complete. I stitched the triangles down to add to the quilt look, and give dimension to my page. Once I was done with the background, I added my photos, title, and embellishments!

For my second layout, my goal was to mix Sunshine & Happiness with You Are Here!

I cut strips from the patterned papers of both collections, and varied them in size and length. I arranged them on my page, and then sewed them down. I left the ends of the thread dangling for a messier look. The theme of the page was Disneyland, so I kept the colors bright and cheery. I used the You Are Here! frames for my photos, as well as a cute phrase from Sunshine & Happiness.

I loved the travel themed wood veneers, and added them to my page. The colors from the two collections coordinate so well!

I have a new layout on the Elle's Studio blog!

This layout started with a cut file. I used a "nesting" shape, but this could easily be replicated from any shape using the "offset" button in Silhouette Studio. I cut out the shape from several patterned papers to create my background.

Once I had the background in place, I added my photo and title. I love the Summer acrylic word! I chose to balance out the layout by adding lots of words on either side of my photo. I used the Bits & Pieces, the wood veneers, the Word Labels, and the cut apart patterned paper.

After I added in all the words, I used the Sunny Days Stamps and Puffy Stickers to add more interest to the layout. A few splatters of mist and the layout was complete!

June Elle's Studio Layouts

Hello friends! June is here already and it's time for a new release with Elle's Studio! This one is extra special because it includes the June Exclusive Kit AND the new Sunny Days collection!

I created two layouts using the Sunny Days collection, along with some items from the June Kit and exclusive extras.

For my first layout, I weaved 1/2" and 3/4" strips and stitched them down. I was going for a plaid look! My favorite part of this layout are the puffy stickers and acrylic stars! So pretty!

For my second layout, I used my Cameo to cut out a sun shape. I backed it with yellow paper, and added as many yellow, orange, and grey embellishments that would fit!! I love all the sunshine themed pieces!

The June kit is super great and it's making me extra excited for Summer!

Sunshine & Happiness Layouts

I have two new layouts on the Simple Stories blog using the NEW Sunshine & Happiness collection! I love all the bright cheerful colors that have me in the mood for summer!

For the first layout, was instantly inspired by the High Five patterned paper. I cut it up and repieced it back together to create a dimensional background! I added sewing around the triangles to really make them pop. Once I had my photo down, I used the Bits & Pieces included in the SN@P! pack to create my title. I added pop dots to the bottom of "HAPPY" for extra dimension!

I added a few more embellishments to complete the layout--the Bradz are my favorite!

For my next layout, I used the Happy Day paper and some watercolors to create a fun effect.

I loved the flowers in the corner of the Total Crush paper, so I cut the corner from the page and used it as a base to my layout. I layered with fussy cut flowers from the Happy Day paper, and added Bradz and enamel dots on the centers.

I also used chipboard and some of the Bits & Pieces for variety. Once I had everything down, I used watercolors and a waterbrush around the edges of my layers. I alternated between pink, orange, and yellow watercolors.

Using a waterbrush allowed me to have more control over the look. I cut out the quote from the 4"x6" Horizontal Elements paper, then placed it beneath my title. I completed the page by using the watercolors to add splatters!
