Wonderful Moments

Today I'm sharing a layout I created for The Cut Shoppe using the Abstract Angles cut file.

To create this layout, I randomly backed triangles on the cut file. There are tons and tons of triangles many overlapping each other. I chose the ones that stood out to me and tried to space them as evenly as possible. A 6"x6" pad or scraps works great for this!

I pulled pink items from my stash and played around with them until I was happy.

I had forgotten how much I love monochromatic layouts! Creating this page has definitely inspired me to use the monochromatic technique more often, and I had fun using the Abstract Angles cut file. Thanks for joining me today!

Summer Sun & Fun!

Hello there! I have a Summer-themed layout to share with you using the "Summer Sun and Fun" cut file from The Cut Shoppe.I love the script writing!

I used a mix of Crate Paper's The Pier and Poolside and a picture of us at the beach. I made the cut file large to be the focal point of my page, and the used the offset tool to mat it with another patterned paper. I definitely don't use the offset tool enough, and I think it's a great way to mix up cut files!

Hello there! Today I'm sharing a layout created with the June Scrapbook Circle kit and the "You've Been Framed" cut file from The Cut Shoppe!

When I started this layout, I had no idea what photos I'd use or what it would be about. I just know I loved the patterns in the kit and wanted to use some of the gold foil tags in the frames. I started wit those, and then added patterned paper behind the frames, trying to space similar ones apart from one another. I knew a few of our anniversary photos would fit nicely in the frames, so I played around with them until I found two that worked! We are almost ready for our fourth anniversary photos and I've only scrapped about half of our third!

Once I had the frames all backed, I chose the background. I LOVE how bright and unique the orange is! It has inspired me to try and use orange more in my layouts! Finally, I finished with a few embellishments. I love the enamel hearts from Bella Blvd! This ended up being one of my favorite layouts in a long time.

Recently I was on the Elle's Studio blog for Sketch Thursday! I created a layout based on a sketch of Jill Sprott's layout using the Sunny Days collection.

I used a square punch to create the blocks of patterned paper in the sketch. Breaking down a paper with a punch can make patterns seem less intimidating! I used the Sunny Days stamp to replicate the text across the patterned paper. Stitching the strips on the side of the page added extra dimension!

July Elle's Studio Layouts

Hello there! It's time for another exclusive release with Elle's Studio! I'm especially excited about this month's release because of the adorable new wood veneer, acrylic pie chart and stars, and vellum hearts! It's my favorite month of extras yet!

I created two layouts using the new exclusives. My first layout was inspired by all the fun colors and patterns in the kit, as well as the Sunny Days 6"x6"pad.

Backing cut files are a great way to use lots of different patterns!

For my next layout, I was inspired by the pie charts. I replicated the look using patterned paper, and placed them on my page to create a background.

The tab wood veneer are so cute!! I had so much fun creating with these exclusives and I know you will too! Be sure to stop by the design team gallery for more inspiration!

Getting to Know You Blog Hop

Hello there! I'm super excited to be joining The Cut Shoppe for another term. Today we are celebrating the new team with a fun blog hop! To start off, we're all answering a few questions about our scrapping process.

How many times in a week, do you work on something scrapbook related?
Pretty much every day. If I'm not scrapping, I'm planning out assignments or posting things to social media. As far as creating layouts, I tend to go in spurts. I work for several hours at a time and churn out the pages!

What’s your favorite subject to scrapbook?
My husband and dog, hands down! That's what 99% of my layouts are about!

What is your favorite color to use on your layouts/projects? What is your least favorite color?
Probably pink. I tend to gravitate towards more girly products, which typically include pink. I struggle with using purple, and I also rarely use orange.

Why do you like using cut files on your layouts/projects?
I find cut files to be so inspiring! They help me create backgrounds, accents, and titles for my pages. Words and phrases inspire layout subjects. I also love how I can manipulate them to create multiple looks from just one file.

What are some of your other favorite hobbies? If you were not a scrapbooker, what other hobby do you think would consume most of your time?
That's so hard to say! I can't imagine anything outside of scrapbooking. I absolutely love to read, but I think I would be consumed with some other creative hobby

Tell us 5 things we don’t know about you!
-I'm terrified of fish. I don't know why. Ocean fish are fine, but dead fish or any fish in tanks freak me out!
-I am basically a four year old at heart. I love stickers, Hello Kitty, and Disney. I'm not even a little bit ashamed.
-Michael and I hope to have kids in the next few years, but first I intend on fulfilling my life long dream of going to Paris.
-I was 20 the first time I went to Disneyland. I loved it so much that I honeymooned there, and have been back multiple times since!
-I'm an Auntie! I have one niece, Cassidy and she is two years old. I love her so much!
